LeBron James scores 24 in win over Indiana Pacers after six games out

As the Los Angeles Lakers seek to win out and avoid the play-in tournament, LeBron James returned to the court Saturday, posting 24 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds during a 122-115 win over the Indiana Pacers.

James had missed the past six games to continue to recover from a high ankle sprain.

Dennis Schroder, out the past seven games because of the league's health and safety protocols, also returned against the Pacers, scoring 14 points.

Currently the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference, the Lakers can move up and avoid the play-in tournament if they win against the New Orleans Pelicans and the Portland Trail Blazers lose to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin contributed to this report.
